Been pretty quiet on here for a while. Initially I was waiting for Six Flags New England to open (my currently closest park). The park officially opened April 6th for Spring Break (then only opening for weekends until summer). Due to rain and other commitments, I haven’t had the chance to go. But this weekend is the time to go (for me)! Most likely for Memorial Day, but possibly tomorrow, I’ll finally have nice weather and the chance to visit the park in a year. I’m looking forward to the visit so much!
I’m currently a Classic Gold Member with Six Flags, which doesn’t seem to exist anymore, haha, but was the better level membership a couple of years ago when I signed up. It includes access to all Six Flags parks (not the water parks, however, I believe) and parking every visit. In addition, extra perks are included like Bring a Friend Free days, discounted passes for other people, and discounts on food and merchandise. The Bring a Friend Free days and the discounted tickets are so nice because they allow me to visit with friends without them also having a pass.
Earlier today, I was looking at the membership page on Six Flag’s site and noticed first that the membership I have doesn’t exist anymore and second that it would make sense for me to “upgrade” my pass to the current system. There is a current promotion going where Gold Plus passes are upgraded to Platinum level passes for the lifetime of the membership, which basically means there are a couple additional perks. In general the new membership system seems slightly better (and less expensive) than the old membership system, still allowing access to all Six Flags parks, including stand alone water parks with free parking. So I’m looking to upgrade soon!
In a future post, I’d like to talk more about why I chose to get a membership. Please note that a membership is not the same as a season pass, though they have overlapping benefits.
I encourage you to take a look for yourself as to whether a membership would make sense for you: https://www.sixflags.com/newengland/store/membership (this site is for the New England park)
